Downtown Holiday Season Kickoff

Wednesday, November 16th, 5:30 - 8 p.m.

Brown County Courthouse & CityDeck

From 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., join us at the Brown County Courthouse for the lighting of the Peace Tree!

The Peace Tree is a year round symbol of peace in downtown Green Bay. Planted 54 years ago by People For People of Green Bay as a response to the Vietnam War, this pine is illuminated each year as a reminder of the need for peace on Earth. Join People For People, Downtown Green Bay, Inc., Mayor Eric Genrich, and County Executive Troy Strechenback as we illuminate the Peace Tree.

Special guest appearances by Preble High School Choir VOX and Leonardo DaVinci student essay winners.

From 6:45 to 8 p.m., join us on the CityDeck for the Downtown Holiday Season Kickoff!

Jeff Mirkes of Downtown Green Bay Inc. and Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich will join us in the celebration of the illumination of the CityDeck winter lights. Thousands of beautiful lights will illuminate the trees and railings to give you a magical winter experience, accented by snowflakes guiding you down the path.

On Cherry Street Landing, enjoy an augmented reality experience and take your picture standing next to a gingerbread house, or take a video doing a dance with the resident Gingerbread Men. Don’t forget to post your favorite pictures and hashtag #DowntownGB.

Walk a little further and you can take a photo with Giant Sparkling Santa near the Pine Street entrance to the CityDeck.

Preble High School Choir VOX will be on site singing their favorite holiday carols. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available at The Daily Buzz.

While you are downtown, don’t forget to check out the great downtown businesses. Shops will be open to kickoff the holiday season!
