Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary

Category: Merchant Spotlight

Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary (SHPS) is the first 501(c)3 no-kill, nonprofit cat sanctuary and adoption center that specializes in saving felines with physical and psychological disabilities.

SHPS started when owner, Elizabeth Feldhausen's cat had a stroke. Everywhere she brought her cat to get help, she was met with euthanasia as the only option. After realizing there was no place that would help cats with special needs, she decided she was going to make an organization that did just that!

Not only does SHPS take in cats with disabilities, they also take in cats with owners who have recently been put in nursing homes or who have passed away. Additionally, SHPS also has a neonatal unit to help kittens if something has happened to the mother cat.

The general public is welcome to come hangout and socialize with the cats, grab a snack from a local eatery or a beverage from their cooler at SHPS, and do remote work using their free wifi. They have plenty of tables and lounge furniture for you to use, so feel free to come meet the kitties at SHPS!
