Workshop Description:
The land that both inspires awe and challenges our sense of adventure has been a subject that has captivated humans for many years. In this class we will focus on the beauty of the landscape and learn to translate that into an oil painting. The seemingly daunting task of working with oils will be broken down to an easy process that we can then use to create realistic landscapes of our own. This class will teach painting of the landscape in a manner that will produce life-like scenes. Students will learn the essentials to go forward painting landscapes with the tools needed to succeed.
Workshop supplies ARE included with the registration fee.

Instructor Biography:
Nathan Brandner is a full time working artist from Wisconsin. His work encompasses landscapes, still lifes and portraits done in an expressive yet representational manner. Executing paintings and drawings from life is the cornerstone of his craft. Drawn to the beauty of the way light interacts with his subject Nathan seeks to illuminate and share the mystery in life that is often taken for granted.
Having a degree from UW-Stevens Point in art, classical training in Florence Italy and an education at the Academy of Fine Art in Wisconsin, Nathan has taken the time to carefully hone his craft. With continual workshops under modern day masters and studying those who have come before, it is his firm belief that painting and drawing is very much a learned skill. It is a practice that with extensive study anyone with enough curiosity can achieve.
