The Neville Public Museum is proud to bring UW-GB professor Zack Kruse back to the museum for its 4th season of the horror film series “Nightmares at the Neville.” Nightmares at the Neville showcases three classic horror films with discussions led by Kruse, who is a scholar of comics, film, and American literature.
Popcorn and soda will be available for purchase prior to each film’s showing. (cash only for popcorn)
Theatre doors open at 5:30pm.
The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)
Enter the strange and stylish world of Dr. Anton Phibes in this darkly comedic horror classic starring Vincent Price. Believed to have died years earlier, the brilliant and disfigured Dr. Phibes secretly returns to London seeking revenge on the medical team he blames for his beloved wife’s death. With the help of his mysterious assistant Vulnavia, Phibes devises a series of elaborate and bizarre murders inspired by the biblical Ten Plagues of Egypt.
Directed by Robert Fuest, The Abominable Dr. Phibes is celebrated for Vincent Price’s theatrical performance, its macabre humor, and its striking Art Deco-inspired visual style.
