Chelle Diederich is presenting her Love Letters to Myself collection at the SAGE studio after it returns from her first solo show at the Len G. Everett Gallery on Monmouth College's campus.

The collection is inspired by the idea of finding happiness, enjoying the journey, and loving the present moment.

In these paintings you’ll find repeating elements - sometimes explored in different ways. Polka dots, trails of dots, flowers, the juxtaposition of gloss and matte, mandala-esque line work. Playfulness, energy, freedom. Joy. Chelle Diederich explored the idea of creating a lexicon of imagery used to tell the story of falling in love with my life. The titles are a fun mixture of texts the artist sent or received, pop culture references, affirmations and acceptances of self, and a stupid joke that helps remind her that laughter is sometimes the best medicine. The collection is full of color and experimentation. It’s somehow joyful and deep at the same time.
