Instructor Biography
Nathan Brandner is a full time working artist from Wisconsin. His work encompasses landscapes, still lifes and portraits done in an expressive yet representational manner. Executing paintings and drawings from life is the cornerstone of his craft. Drawn to the beauty of the way light interacts with his subject Nathan seeks to illuminate and share the mystery in life that is often taken for granted.
Having a degree from UW-Stevens Point in art, classical training in Florence Italy and education at the Academy of Fine Art in Wisconsin Nathan has taken the time to carefully hone his craft. With continual workshops under modern day masters and studying those who have come before, it is his firm belief that painting and drawing is very much a learned skill. It is a practice that with extensive study anyone with enough curiosity can achieve.
