Artist-in-Residence, Gina Cornejo, will be joining us to screen two of her short films as we celebrate National Author Day and Dia de los Muertos at the Art Garage!

This free or pay-what-you-can event is open to ages 21+, and features "Atmosphere" and "Dirty Laundry", both are original, collaborative performance works by Cornejo. You can find out more about her work at ginacornejo.com, and more about her other visiting artist events at theartgarage.org.

"Atmosphere" (9:21) has been featured at the Revolve Gallery (2021) within the First Draft Residency program where Gina Cornejo was the Artist in Residence for September and October, 2021, under the direction of Lex Turnbull. "Atmosphere" was also screened at the Cat Fly Film Festival (2021) and featured as a film installation artwork at the ZanZan Gallery (2022) in Asheville, North Carolina. "Dirty Laundry" (35:35) is an intimate virtual performance from Stewart Owen Dance and Gina Cornejo, that premiered on February 12, 2022. Featuring choreography from Stewart Owen Dance and original autobiographical writing from Gina Cornejo, this cringeworthy-yet-charming film brings together seven artists to enchant viewers.
