"CANDID CAMPFIRE!!!!!" IGNITES THE STAGE AT GREEN BAY FRINGE FESTIVAL THIS JULY
Green Bay, WI – July 17-20, 2025 — This summer, audiences are invited to gather ‘round the weirdest little campfire in town as Candid Campfire!!!!!, the genre-blending imaginative solo show by writer-performer Steven Peter Sanders, premieres at the Green Bay Fringe Festival.
Candid Campfire!!!!! is an unpredictable, music-infused rollercoaster of storytelling, satire, and surreal reflection. With nothing but a guitar, a campfire, and a whole lot of baggage, the story leads us through tales of social media obsession, gambling addiction, polyamory, and the search for genuine human connection in a world gone algorithmic.
The story is a day in the life of Pete Still, a washed-up musician and failed influencer who hits rock bottom and survives a wild night in the desert, using technology he doesn’t understand, speaking to an audience that doesn’t want to listen. The campfire symbolizes his desire to keep a creative flame burning as the story moves from an optimistic sunrise, into the struggles of attracting an audience, getting cancelled, a sunset of despair, a cold lonely evening, finally ending on a hopeful sunrise. And lots of imaginary drinking, gun fighting, and a skunk hunt.
This is not your summer camp singalong. This is a campfire for the chronically online, the terminally nostalgic, and anyone trying to stay warm in the cold glow of the internet.
Featuring original songs, audience interaction, comedic sketches, and moments of raw emotional honesty, Candid Campfire!!!!! is part musical, part stand-up, part group therapy... and completely unforgettable.

About the Artist: Steven Peter Sanders is a chronic creative. He has written three collections of poems and stories, and over 150 songs for the musical groups (click links): The Rhythm Swamis, soma, TinmaddoG, Schnebley Styles, i with us, Sayani, Skaliticians, and Snapdragon Seeds. Snapdragon Seeds has appeared at the San Diego Fringe Festival, among other festivals, libraries, schools, and museums around the country.

He has also written, produced, directed and performed five other one act plays:

Sanders is originally from Milwaukee, WI, but currently lives in San Diego, CA with his wife and two children.
