Artist Statement:
Two words describe this mural: retro space. The 1960s & 1970s were inundated with all sorts of space imagery, travel and the future which is depicted in the four panels of this mural. For example, Robby the Robot is a throwback image to the golden age of space themed television. The blue panel and the chalk like markings are used to represent the imagination and creation process in space science. To bring in the community, the artist collaborated with ten local individuals, varying in age, to draw their own representation of space.
