Artist Statement:
Given the mural is on a historic building, the mural reflects the rich history of Green Bay. These lands wouldn't be what they are without the Oneida Nation, so the artist wanted to celebrate both Oneida and the state of Wisconsin's past and present. Local flora and fauna such as cranberries, lilies, pelicans and sunfish are depicted in this piece. A modern Oneida woman wearing traditional garb smiles down on viewers with a strength and fierceness that invites everyone to celebrate their lives and local landscapes.
