About the Artist

Artist: Beau Thomas

Artist Statement:
I love this city. I was born in Green Bay and I’ve called it home for the past 25 years. The Green Bay Mural is a tribute to my home and a celebration of place.

There are many elements to this massive painting. The ‘GREEN BAY’ text stretches across the wall and is a loud proclamation of who we are. Near the middle of the mural is the Fox River and Tower Drive Bridge. The river is central to Green Bay’s natural landscape and the bridge is an iconic element of the waterway. On the left end of the mural is a marker for the beginning of The Arts District on Main Street. The far right end of the mural showcases some of Downtown Green Bay’s most prominent buildings; The Watermark building, which is the most dominant structure on the riverfront, The Courthouse, an object of classical architecture and a cornerstone of downtown, and The Bellin Building, which has an iconic as well as historical importance to the city. Finally, there is text that proclaims “Love Where You Live.” All together, the elements of the mural interact in a celebration of Green Bay.

Be proud of who you are and where you are from. Long live Green Bay.
