Led by artist Annie Stenseth, more than 300 community members came together during ArtFest 2026 to transform the Pine Street Parking Ramp Alley into a vibrant work of public art. Participants collaboratively painted the parking ramp’s breeze blocks in a wide variety of colors, bringing new energy and visual interest to the space. Community members were invited to participate in the mural’s open, hands-on creative process, contributing across the composition rather than to predetermined sections. Working within a shared color palette, individual choices created shifting relationships from block to block, resulting in a visual field that is both cohesive and spontaneous. The completed mural reflects the idea that many small, individual contributions can come together to create something meaningful, vibrant, and unified—while also complementing the unique architectural character of the breeze blocks and transforming an everyday downtown space into a colorful work of public art.
