As mother and daughter, we have shared countless experiences in our lives. We have each played the role of friend, teacher, and support system with each other. We have discovered that we ground each other when our ideas are too grandiose and we raise each other's spirits when life becomes overwhelming.
As artists, we share our lives through our paintings and creations. Admiring places we've been, dissecting people we've met, and sorting day to day emotions. "Shared" is a collection of abstraction artworks that explores the intimate workings of our lives. Through making marks with a variety of media, we are able to realize the broad range of emotions in our relationship.
This collection of work depicts our expressions of anger, fear, abandonment and longing, as well as comfort, celebration and joy all which encompasses our mother and daughter relationship.
