Meant to Bee - A Solo Exhibition by Paige Nordstrom
Exhibition Dates: May 3, 2023 - May 27, 2023
Opening Reception: Friday, May 5 @ 5pm-7pm
An opening reception is hosted by the Art Garage to celebrate the beginning of an exhibition. Artists, their friends and family, and the public are welcome to join us. These events are a great opportunity to meet featured artists displayed in the gallery.
A solo exhibition by artist Paige Nordstrom, a mixed media collection that shows the positive relationship between bees, nature and humanity.
My artwork incorporates a variety of mixed media elements such as acrylic, colored pencil, fabric, jewelry, textured paper, burlap and string. This type of style really challenges me, where I can take some artistic risks and be bold! Collaging is always fun to experiment with, I can do so much with it and be versatile in my artwork.
I have a deep appreciation for wildlife and nature has continued to be my inspiration for most of my work. By marrying my love for painting and collage, I have found my own whimsical style in creating charming, fantasy wildlife narratives.
Why bees? Wanted to create a series of artwork that focuses on the beauty of nature. I wanted to share awareness on the importance of bees and their connection to humanity. Bees are a symbol of hard work and new beginnings, and they are adorable! I love painting them! They have a major impact on our everyday lives. Some of the pieces featured in my series are salvaged bee frames by bee farmers-which helped further inspire the creation of this new series. A world without bees would look very different. I hope this collection will help to inspire and remind us that they were meant to bee.
About the Artist:
My name is Paige Nordstrom, I am a Painter & Mixed-Media artist from the Midwest. I hold a Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. I work in my studio & run my own art business from home.
Ever since I was young I have always been a creative person. Back in school- I dived into many different types of mediums and art techniques such as ceramics, printmaking, graphic design, drawing and painting. My relationship with art has broadened my horizons and has journeyed into many genres, but painting has always been my true passion!
I have participated in many local art events and my work has been featured in local shops and galleries around town. As I mature as an artist my style grows with me! It's wonderful to see from where I began as an artist to where I am now in my career. I am always learning in my studio as I continue with my art journey.
By marrying my love for nature, painting and collage, I found my own whimsical style. My artwork incorporates many elements of mixed media such as: ACRYLIC PAINT, JEWELRY, FABRIC, GLITTER, BURLAP, STRING, TEXTURED PAPER AND OTHER PEICES THAT INSPIRE ME.
As a result, I've been creating charming, fantasy narratives through my art. I express a little of my soul into each piece I create. I want to share my creativity & inspire others. I hope my art communicates that passion!
