Artist Statement:
This mural is the artist’s tribute to a place they love. Using the format of the classic ‘Greetings from’ postcards, each letter depicts a different scene of what makes the neighborhood so special. The letters represent the historic train depot (B), fireworks and hot air balloon reference events held in the district (R), the tall ships docked on the Fox River (O), dinosaur sculpture in front of the Neville Museum (A), nighttime landscape of the bridge lights over the river (D), a freight train rolling through the snow (W), the iconic farmers market on Broadway (A) and the glowing trees during the holidays (Y).
