The Napalese Lounge and Grille is excited to announce that on August 21st, we will be having A Weekend of Pride! This will include our LGBTQ+ Mural Unveiling and Door Opening Celebration block party on August 21st. This project has gotten generous support from the Canary Fund, Dave & Busters, Napalese, and other organizations. The mural, and front door, were made possible by the hard work and support of LGBTQ+ community members, local organizations and businesses, and the City of Green Bay!

On the same day of the mural unveiling, we will be opening a new front door at Napalese. In 2000, when Naps moved to its current location, some less than savory characters would kick open the front door and throw fireworks and trash into the bar. These fear tactics became so frequent that the front door was sealed. Since patrons have entered the bar through a side door in the parking lot.

But all that is changing now. Recently, Green Bay’s Redevelopment Authority approved a façade grant for our mural unveiling and door opening celebration. This grant will allow us to secure a new front door for Napalese.

Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich will be joining us to unveil the new front door for Napalese. He will also be presenting us with a proclamation affirming the LGBTQ+ community. Join us as we usher in a new day of LGBTQ+ visibility and acceptance in Green Bay.

As a part of this weekend, you can also join us for the exciting launch of Our Voices: LGBTQ+ Stories of Northeastern Wisconsin. The exhibit will be available for viewing on Friday, August 20th, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, August 21st, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, and Sunday, August 22nd, from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

This project will be presented by UW - Green Bay's Archives Department. We want to extend a huge thank you to The Art Garage for giving the UW - Green Bay Archives this space for their community launch!
