Beautiful Minds "Dyslexia and the Creative Advantage" an Art exhibit that celebrates the creative gifts and talents of children and adults with dyslexia!
“Many people have the wrong idea about what dyslexia actually is — in ‘Beautiful Minds’ we are using art, among other things, to show that one of the strengths people with dyslexia have is their creative artistic talents.
“The exhibit will illuminate many of the misconceptions of dyslexia, educate those who aren’t familiar with it and empower those who have this most common learning disability. It also shines a light on the heightened creative skills that are so commonly found in people who have dyslexia,” The exhibition also features artwork from students and adults with dyslexia along with family members and friends who will create works of art as an expression of love for them.
“In school we gauge intelligence by one’s ability to read. Children who struggle to learn to read feel alone as they struggle to master what comes easily for so many. ‘Beautiful Minds’ is a place of acceptance while opening the minds of parents, educators, family and friends to the hidden potential that goes unrecognized in the 10 to 20 percent who struggle with dyslexia.
Jayne Black, Mrs. US continental is spending her year promoting her platform Beautiful Minds "Dyslexia in the Creative Advantage". Jayne was diagnosed as an adult with dyslexia and also has a son with dyslexia.
Let's create a world where children with dyslexia can stand proud and shine bright!
