Ojibwe author Patty Loew shares preliminary research for the 3rd edition of her award-winning book, Indian Nations of Wisconsin: Histories of Endurance and Renewal. Loew uses an Indigenous framework, gathering oral history, and reconstructing the past in collaboration with tribal elders, educators, and culture keepers while relying upon sources that are Native and often not print-based. Patty Loew, Ph.D., is an enrolled citizen of the Mashkiibiizii (Bad River Band) of Lake Superior Ojibwe. She has served as a professor at the Medill School of Journalism and director of the Center for Native American and Indigenous Research at Northwestern University.
